What led you to Hitachi?
I joined Hitachi just over three years ago, I’ve since moved from software development to consulting. I wanted to play a bigger role in delivering great outcomes for clients, from developing technology initiatives right through to implementation and the end-to-end process.
Currently, I work in the Digital Solutions Advisory Practice with clients across multiple industries including insurance, retail, mobility, among others. I love the variety that my role provides, meeting new clients, running workshops, designing new systems, and improving processes, collaborating with different virtual teams each week and travelling to places.
How has your role changed and evolved as our business has grown?
I have recently accepted a brand-new internal role – Global Consulting People & Culture Lead, in addition to my regular role. This new role is focused on being the voice of our consulting practice to our leadership team. It enables me to communicate information upwards and downwards in equal measure. Also, it allows me to be closer to our people, to listen to their concerns and promote an aligned understanding about ‘People Matters’. It’s a great opportunity inculcate our culture and values among the team.
Apart from these, I also had the opportunity to create the Internship Programme, which enabling us to bring graduates into the business, provide them with a years training and then offer them a permanent job after. My typical day for me involves a variety of work and projects, and it keeps me excited.

What has been a career highlight since you joined?
I’ve had many remarkable moments, but my proudest achievement would be developing some interesting conceptual products and prototyping to enable the UK’s biggest bus company to electrify and manage their bus network effectively. So, we’re enabling the company to operate a zero-emission bus fleet by 2035 and focuses on sustainability, an area I am interested in, as it brings good not only to the company but to society.
What keeps you here?
Hitachi provides exposure to various industries and to several types of projects. There is innovation, strong values and a vibrant culture, along with lots of flexibility. It packs almost all the key ingredients that make a top workplace, especially for career growth.
