Yuichi Yagawa is a member of the Hitachi Digital Services Board of Directors and the President of the Social Infrastructure Information Systems Division within the Social Infrastructure Systems Business Unit at Hitachi, Ltd. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Yagawa-san has been instrumental in driving technological advancements and strategic initiatives within Hitachi, Ltd. Yagawa-san continues to contribute significantly to the technological advancements within Hitachi.
Yagawa-san's career at Hitachi began in 1991 at the Central Research Laboratory. He progressively took on more significant roles, including Senior Researcher at Hitachi America, Ltd. R&D Solution Laboratory in 2001, and later as Manager of various research departments and development divisions. Notable positions include his tenure as General Manager of the Information Services Research Center at the Yokohama Research Laboratory from 2014 and his leadership roles at the System Innovation Center, the Yokohama Research Laboratory, and the Central Research Laboratory from 2015 to 2019.
In 2020, Yagawa-san was appointed CIO of the Systems & Services Business Sector, concurrently serving as Vice President of the Social Infrastructure Information Systems Division and the Control System Platform Division. In 2023, he ascended to President of Social Infrastructure Information Systems Division.
Throughout his career, Yagawa-san has been a visionary leader, overseeing critical projects that have advanced Hitachi's social infrastructure capabilities. His engineering expertise and strategic foresight have been key to Hitachi’s innovation and competitive strength in the global market.
He earned his PhD in Engineering from the Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems at Waseda University in 2019, following a Master of Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 1991.
