I value the collaborative culture and diverse teams at Hitachi Digital Services, which have broadened my perspective and supported my growth.
My Day-to-Day as a Technical Project Manager
Right now, I’m working as a Technical Project Manager. My day-to-day is a mix of managing project delivery while staying hands-on with technical decisions. I work closely with Developers, Solution Architects, BAs, and Quality Control (QC) team to make sure things are on track. I’m also quite involved with clients and stakeholders, making sure we’re aligned, helping resolve issues, and keeping things moving smoothly.
Thanks to my technical background, I often act as a link between the business and tech teams. On top of that, I also support technical consultants at times, influencing technical decisions, giving input on design, and making sure we’re following best practices.
My Hitachi Journey
I joined Hitachi back in 2016 as a Business Analyst, although I graduated as a software engineer. I was curious about how businesses operate and wanted to gain that perspective early in my career. Eventually, I transitioned back into a developer role – reigniting my passion for building and problem-solving.
Since then, my journey has taken me through several roles, from Developer to Team Lead, and eventually into Technical Project Manager. Each phase brought its own learning curve, and I embraced every opportunity to grow.
Having both business and technical perspectives along the way helps me see the bigger picture, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and deliver solutions that are not only technically sound but also aligned with real business needs.
What Keeps Me Going
Innovation and the chance to work on projects that really make a difference is what keeps me going. The tech landscape is always evolving, so there’s always something new to explore. I also value the collaborative culture at Hitachi Digital Services. Working with diverse teams has broadened my perspective and helped me grow both personally and professionally.
The Hitachi Culture Makes a Difference
What I love most about working at Hitachi Digital Services is the combination of growth opportunities, supportive people, and meaningful work. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to move across roles, from Business Analyst to Developer, then Team Lead, and now Technical Project Manager. That kind of flexibility and trust in my potential has made a big difference in my career.
Also, I’ve worked with teams and managers who’ve supported me to step up when new opportunities came along. The work we do is meaningful too; when we see our projects making a difference for the clients and end users, it gives us a sense of pride. That mix of purpose and collaboration is what makes Hitachi Digital Services a great place to grow.
Advice to Women in Tech: Step Up, Speak Up, and Stay Curious
My advice would be to embrace new roles that push you out of your comfort zone —that’s where real growth happens. Keep learning and stay true to what excites you, whether that’s coding, leading teams, or solving real-world problems.
Women in tech may still be fewer in number, but that shouldn’t hold you back. If you’re passionate about what you do, there’s always room for you to make an impact. If you stay true to your values, you’ll find the scope to grow as you go along. It’s not just about technical skills, but also your perspective and the way you contribute to a team. Own that, and let it guide you in your work and collaboration.
Continuous learning isn’t just a buzzword at Hitachi Digital Services; it’s what keeps me motivated and growing.
The best way to stay ready for the future is to stay curious, adaptable, and never stop learning.
The Woman of Hitachi initiative is a great way to acknowledge women in IT and it also allows me to grow my network.
