Senior Consultant Cloud & DevOps
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Continuous learning isn’t just a buzzword at Hitachi Digital Services; it’s what keeps me motivated and growing.
Engineering Impact in the Cloud – My role
As a senior consultant in Cloud & DevOps, specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), I help clients leverage the power of cloud through the design and implementation of cloud-native GCP solutions.
My key responsibility is translating complex business requirements into efficient cloud solutions. That means collaborating with senior architects, hands-on coding and configuring, and continuously learning along the way. I also develop proof-of-concepts to showcase the art-of-the-possible with GCP for prospective clients.
What excites me most about Cloud & DevOps is the sheer pace of innovation and the direct impact we can make. We can provision resources, automate workflows, and enable businesses to scale and adapt almost instantaneously, which is incredible. I’m particularly inspired by GCP’s leadership in data analytics and AI/ML, and how we can integrate these advanced capabilities to solve real-world problems. In this space, continuous learning isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a necessity that keeps me incredibly motivated and engaged.
A Team Built on Ownership and Curiosity
Our team thrives because of our proactive, integrated way of working. We hold regular ‘knowledge-sharing’ sessions on topics like new application architecture, GCP best practices, and cost optimization. We extensively use shared communication channels and have cultivated a culture of “there are no stupid questions”, which fosters open learning.
Our sense of ownership of the solutions we implement is a key driving factor. We don’t just deliver projects – we build solutions that last and truly serve the client’s long-term needs. This mindset further motivates us to learn new techniques, explore innovative GCP services, and confidently give suggestions for enhancements, even post-delivery.
Turning Fear Into Confidence – Challenges That Shaped Me
Joining my first large, high stakes project on a live production system was quite intimidating. The responsibility felt immense, and I was genuinely afraid of making a mistake. But incredible support from my Hitachi teammates and leaders truly made a difference. They reminded me that mistakes can happen but what matters the most is how you respond; own it, learn from it and move forward.
Their encouragement gave me the confidence to contribute, ask questions, and grow into the role. Since then, I’ve always approached my work with extreme care and diligence. I double-check my configurations, test thoroughly, and think critically about potential impacts. Most importantly, I don’t let fear stop me from acting or innovating – I use it instead to stay thoughtful and precise.
That early challenge helped build my resilience and reinforced the importance of a supportive team culture, something I truly value here at Hitachi Digital Services.
